Import a File: Update Orders to Add Shipment Protection
Import a new CSV file to add Shipment Protection to your previously imported orders
When you need to add shipment protection to a group of previously imported orders, Postsale gives you the ability to update multiple orders at the same time by importing a CSV file. This method works best when:
- The orders needing shipment protection were originally imported from a CSV file.
- You wish to cover the shipments with the shipping carrier's coverage. This method cannot be used to add Shipsurance to your shipments.
Real Word Example
We have multiple orders that we are fulfilling for A Bit Fishy Aquarium Supplies. The orders have already been imported into Postsale without shipment protection added. A Bit Fishy Aquarium Supplies has now asked us to add shipment protection to every order.
Rather than adding shipment protection to each shipment individually, we will import a CSV file that will bulk update all of the orders.
To make the process as easy as possible, we have a help article to assist you. Follow the steps in our Import a CSV File: Update Existing Orders help article.
Tip: Insurance Field Mapping
When following the steps in the Import a CSV File: Update Existing Orders help article, there are two main fields in your CSV file that you will need to configure in order to add shipment protection to shipments. We've included specific details on these fields for you below:
-
Apply Insurance: Specifies whether or not you want to add shipment protection to the shipment.
- Enter No to specify you do not want to add shipment protection.
- Enter Yes to apply the carrier's shipment protection based upon the shipping carrier selected for the shipment (USPS, UPS, FedEx).
- Insurance Amount: Enter the coverage amount apply to apply to the shipment when Apply Insurance is set to Yes.
