Default Shipping Settings Manage Origin Addresses Add an Origin Address Default Address Edit an Origin Address Edit an Origin Address from the Dock Delete an Origin Address Assign Origin Addresses As the Default From Address About From Addresses To a Single Shipment

Add multiple origin addresses to Postsale so that you can quickly assign the correct Ship From address to your shipments.

This can be useful when:

  • You fulfill orders from different warehouses or store locations.
  • You need individual sender or company names, addresses, phone numbers, etc., for individual brands to ensure your shipments reflect the correct branding and contact details.

In this article, we cover how to add origin addresses to Postsale, how to edit your origin addresses, and how to quickly assign origin addresses to shipments.

Default Shipping Settings

Need to configure your default shipment settings? Check out our Default Shipment Settings help article for detailed information.

Real-World Example

We ship orders from more than one location and under separate brands. We would like to manage all of our origin addresses in Postsale so that we can select the correct Ship From address from a list of addresses, rather than having to manually enter the address for each shipment. This ensures the correct company name and address appear on the label and that carrier rates are based on the actual origin of the shipment.

Manage Origin Addresses

Add an Origin Address

Procedure: Settings > Carrier Settings

  1.  Go to Settings.

  2. Select Carrier Settings.

Postsale settings is expanded and carrier settings option is highlighted.
  1. Click Edit in the Default Shipment section.

The edit button is being clicked.

  2. Expand the From Address drop-down menu and select Manage Origin Addresses.

The from address menu is expanded and manage origin addresses is being clicked.

  3. Click Add.

The Add button is being clicked.

  4. Enter a Nickname for the address to help you identify it in the list of available origin addresses.

A nickname has been entered into the nickname field.

  5. Enter the address information into the appropriate fields. Then, click Add.

The address fields have been filled in and the add button is being clicked.

The new origin address is added to the list of available origin addresses.

The added origin address is shown in the list of addresses.

  6. Repeat steps 3 - 5 to add as many origin addresses as you need.

Default Address

You might have noticed that a Default Address was already included in the list of origin addresses. This address was added during the initial setup of Postsale. The default address:

  • Can be edited, but cannot be deleted.
  • Is set as the default Ship From address for new shipments. Learn how to change the default origin address in the Assign Origin Addresses section below.

The selected address is saved as the default From Address.

Good to Know

  • The default From Address will be applied:
    • To shipments that are created automatically when new orders are added in Postsale
    • To new shipments added to existing orders in Postsale
  • The default From Address will not be applied:
    • To shipments that were created prior to configuring the default shipment settings
    • To orders imported from a CSV file or webhook with mapped values for shipment settings. Values imported from a CSV file or webhook take priority over the default shipment settings.
