Before We Begin Restore a Template Restore a Single Template Restore All Templates Restore all Built In Templates?

There may come a time when you need to recover the original, unedited version of one or more of the default Postsale templates. Maybe you accidentally deleted one. Or maybe you don't like the edits you made and you'd like to just start over.

This help article will walk you through using Postsale's Restore Template feature to recover your default templates.

Before We Begin

Customizing your templates is a premium feature requiring the Expand, Thrive, or Soar billing plan. Learn more about managing your Postsale account in our Frequently Asked Questions.

Restore a Template

Procedure: Settings > Account Settings

Go to Settings.   Select Account Settings.

  1. Go to Settings.

  2. Select Account Settings.

  1. Select Templates.

    Templates is selected.

  2. Click Restore Template.

The restore template button is being clicked.

The Restore Built In Templates pop-up opens.

The restore built in templates pop-up is shown.

  3. Expand the correct section below for step-by-step instructions on how to restore a single template or restore all templates.

Restore a Single Template

  1. Navigate to and select the template you wish to restore.

    The invoice template is selected.

  2. Click Restore Selected.

The restore selected button is being clicked.

If Postsale detects that a template with the same name as the template you are restoring already exists, you will be asked if you wish to replace the existing template or to create a new template.

  3. Select whether you wish to replace the existing template or to create a new one.
    1. Replace - Deletes the current template and replaces it with the restored version.
    2. New Template - Keeps the existing template and creates a new restored version.

The replace and new template options are shown.

The original template has been restored.

Restore All Templates

  1. Click Restore All Templates.

Restore all templates is being clicked.

    Restore all Built In Templates?

Restoring all built-in templates will overwrite any existing templates with the same name as the default templates. This means any edits you’ve made to the default templates will be lost.

All other templates with different names will remain untouched.

  2. Click Restore All Templates to confirm that you do wish to replace all built in templates with the original version.

The restore all templates button is being clicked to confirm the updates.

All of the built in templates have now been restored to the original version.
