Before We Begin
We recommend that you review the Introduction to the Dock help article to familiarize yourself with the options available to you and to learn how the Dock can be customized for your shipping workflow. The Dock is your main work area when shipping your orders giving you the ability to view and edit shipment details and to create, print, and void shipping labels.
What You Will Need
This article assumes that:
- You have imported orders or manually added orders to Postsale
- You have added at least one shipping carrier account to Postsale
- You have at least one order that you are ready to ship

Edit Shipment Details & Create a Single Shipping Label
Let's look at how to configure the shipment details and create a shipping label for a single order.

Real Word Example
We have several orders that we need to ship. Each order will be shipped individually and have different weights, will be shipped in packages with different dimensions, and may be shipped using different shipping services.
We need to view and configure each shipment, one at a time, to ensure all of the shipment details are correct.
- Select the order in the Orders Grid.
Learn how to search for orders.
- Open the Dock.
- Verify that the shipment is selected in the Shipments Grid.
- Expand the Package section and verify that the following information is correct:
- Packaging
- Weight and Unit
- Dimensions and Unit
- Shipment Protection

Multi-Package Shipments
Need to ship an order in multiple packages? Our Multi-package Shipments help article guides you through how to configure and create labels for shipments with multiple packages.
- Expand Additional Details within the Package section and verify the following information:

Carrier Tab
- Carrier
- Service
- Ship Date
- Defaults to the current date. Select a future date to indicate a future pickup or drop off.
- Delivery Confirmation
- Bill Shipping Charges To (FedEx Only)
- Reference Tab
- Expand the To Address section to verify that the Ship To address is correct.

- Expand the From Address section. Then, verify that the correct Ship From address is selected in the Origin drop-down menu.
About Origin Addresses
The Origin drop-down menu allows you select the origin address associated with your shipping carrier accounts, associated with your stores, from a manually entered list of origin addresses, or to select Other when you wish to manually type a Ship From address.

- Optionally, use the Rate Selector to view and select the best carrier and service for the shipment.
- Click the Create 1 Label button to create the shipping label.
The label is created. The Shipments Panel and the Rate Selector are updated to indicate the label has been created and the Orders Grid is update to show the tatus and Tracking #.

- Click the Print 1 Label button to print the label.
Your web browser's print window will open.
Auto Print
The Auto Print button, when enabled, tells Postsale to open your web browser's print dialog as soon as the label is created so that it can be printed. In some cases, you may need to follow the steps for your specific web browser to allow Postsale to open pop-up windows.
